1. Purpose
The OneMatch Safety Centre explains how we protect users, handle reports, and keep the platform safe.
Dating should feel exciting, but also safe, respectful, and controlled.
We take safety seriously at every stage of the OneMatch experience — from verification to matchmaking to real-world dates.
2. Core Safety Commitment
OneMatch is built on three safety principles:
- Real identities only (verified users)
- Respectful communication only
- User-controlled interactions at all times
We actively work to prevent fake profiles, abuse, scams, and unsafe behaviour.
3. User Verification Safety System
To reduce risk and protect users, OneMatch requires:
- Phone number verification (SMS)
- Selfie verification
- Profile photo minimum requirements (at least 2 images)
- Manual review by trained staff
Accounts that fail verification may be suspended or removed.
4. Reporting a User
Users can report others at any time for:
- Harassment or abuse
- Fake profiles or catfishing
- Scam attempts or fraud
- Inappropriate or sexual content
- Threatening or unsafe behaviour
- Breaking platform rules
4.1 What Happens After a Report
Once a report is submitted:
- It is logged immediately
- It is reviewed by the Trust & Safety team
- Action is taken if required
- Serious cases may be escalated
You may not always be notified of outcomes for privacy reasons.
5. Blocking and Ending Interaction
Users have full control over their interactions.
You may:
- End a match at any time
- Stop communication instantly
- Use “Close Our Chapter” to end a connection
- Avoid future matching with specific users (where applicable)
Blocking or ending a match is private and does not notify the other user beyond system rules.
6. Match Safety Rules
All matches on OneMatch follow strict safety controls:
- Only one active Discover match at a time
- Matches can be paused (maximum 7 days)
- Both users must agree before progressing to dates
- Users can end a match at any point
No user is ever forced to continue a conversation or date.
7. Date Safety Guidelines
When OneMatch arranges real-world dates, safety is a priority.
We recommend:
- Meeting in public locations
- Avoiding sharing sensitive personal information too early
- Letting a friend know your plans
- Using safe transport options
- Trusting your instincts
OneMatch may refuse or cancel a date if safety concerns are identified.
8. Zero Tolerance Behaviour
The following behaviours result in immediate action:
- Threats or violence
- Sexual harassment or coercion
- Scamming or financial manipulation
- Identity fraud or catfishing
- Hate speech or discrimination
- Illegal activity
Severe violations may result in permanent bans without warning.
9. Emergency Situations
If there is an immediate safety concern:
- Users should contact local emergency services (e.g. 000 in Australia)
- OneMatch may assist authorities where legally required
- Accounts involved may be suspended during investigation
OneMatch is not an emergency response service.
10. Platform Monitoring
To maintain safety, OneMatch may:
- Review reported messages
- Use automated systems to detect abuse or fraud
- Monitor for suspicious behaviour patterns
- Restrict or suspend accounts when necessary
We only access data required for safety and platform operation.
